Guest Speaker:  Dr. Stefan Bean

Dr. Stefan Bean is a strong supporter of Scouting in Orange County and has dedicated more than 25 years to serving Southern California communities as a teacher, principal, and school administrator.

In June 2024, the Orange County Board of Education unanimously appointed him as Orange County’s 12th Superintendent of Schools.

Born in Saigon in the early 1970s as Nam Le Thanh, Dr. Bean overcame significant early challenges. Stricken by polio and abandoned, he was brought to the United States during Operation Babylift and later adopted by the Bean family. Their support helped shape his academic success and lifelong commitment to service.

Despite health challenges, Dr. Bean was active in sports and extracurricular activities, served in student leadership roles, and developed a passion for public speaking and advocacy. A straight-A student and class president, he earned a full scholarship to the University of Southern California.
